Prior to his current role, Michel held senior leadership roles within a Top 5 Bank, an executive role within an insurance company and a Chief Marketing Officer role within a Mortgage Brokerage.
As a business leader and passionate entrepreneur, Michel has observed that leaders tended to tell their team “what” and “how” things are to be done, but not often enough “why”. Michel is passionate about helping people rediscover “why” they, and their organizations, do what they do, founded on the values of professionalism, ethics and gratitude.
Michel holds his undergraduate degree and his Master's degree. He is Mortgage Broker licensed and Life Insurance licensed. Michel is an avid martial artist and the proud father of two boys.

Among his many accomplishments, Gary spearheaded the creation of the chartered bank, Alterna Bank of Canada, and the successful merger of CS CO-OP and Metro Credit Union. Gary currently serves on Boards within the financial industry, including wealth management, fintech and payment services. He is a strong advocate of stewarding business relationships and community involvement.
Gabe Kalmar has had a rewarding career in financial services and served as a senior executive in numerous organizations – Senior Vice President, Retail Banking at CIBC, President of CIBC Insurance and President & Chief Operating Officer of CUMIS Life Insurance Company. Currently, Gabe is a strategic advisor to financial institutions and fintechs, focused on growth within the sector.
Marissa has over twenty years of operations, credit and marketing experience at Fortune 500 companies such as TMX, PepsiCo, Wellsfargo and TD Bank. She has been recognized for her dedication and commitment. In her previous roles, Marissa has specialized in planning and developing product launches, overseeing organizational marketing and promotional activities and web redesign.
Marissa plans and executes on marketing initiatives. She has proven creative and communication skills with the ability to see the big picture. Marissa has managed corporate events, which included selecting and booking venues, coordinating with vendors, decor, catering, entertainment, transportation, scheduling speakers and special guests, equipment and promotional material.
From creative development, planning, right through to execution, Marissa always ensures that the Brand and image of the organization is one that is well-respected and trusted. In her current role, Marissa is responsible for marketing. She supports the Apaylo Executive Team in organizational initiatives.

Amy is a human resources professional and change leader, specializing in Human Resources Operations and Project Management. With over 25 years of experience at CIBC, she has experience in a variety of portfolios, including Program Management, Compensation & Benefits Administration, Performance Management, HR Metrics and Business Change Management. Most recently, Amy was a part-time instructor at the University of Toronto’s School of Continuous Studies in Human Resources Management Program.
